Position: Breast Fellowship
This position would suit a 1st or 2nd year trainee.
The PMCC is the only public hospital in Australia dedicated to cancer. It is the largest research facility in Australia with active engagement and collaboration between local and international researchers and clinicians. Exposure is primarily to breast cancer, but opportunities for breast cancer genetics, attendance at Breast Screen and reconstruction both immediate, delayed and more complicated are part of this role.
Oncoplastics procedures 50+ per year, reconstruction 70+ per year, no general surgery or on-call allow opportunities for new and established research projects to occur.

BREAKDOWN OF HOURS – 3 Outpatient clinics, 5 GOR Operating lists, and NIL On-call requirements
PRIVATE CONSULTING – Supplementary consulting sessions in the Specialist’s private rooms by arrangement
MDT – Post op, Advanced breast cancer care, Radiological review (Multidisciplinary management of breast cancer patients)
ACADEMIC & RESEARCH – any Academic involvement and / or Research actvities
available to the trainee or required - Possible to achieve higher degree
OTHER - Familial Cancer Centre, Breast Screen, reconstruction service, medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology and research program.
FUNDED 1 year FTE role commencing on RACS start date early February 2020 - YES
SALARY will be Full time salary equivalent to Senior Registrar salary (or greater) and minimum salary package and requirements and conditions as required by law in the Hospital jurisdiction will apply - YES, Note: Payment is for an 8 day fortnight with private assisting / research opportunities. Suitable candidates will be considered for emergency general surgery roster in the precinct emergency.
