Position: Breast Fellowship – St Vincent's Hospital


This role would suit a 1st year trainee.

The Breast Unit at St Vincent's Hospital is part of the Breast, Endocrine / General Surgical Unit and in addition to the Fellow there are 2-3 Breast Surgeons, 2-3 Endocrine Surgeons, a Registrar (SET 3-5) and 1-2 Interns. This position can be adapted to suit the needs of fellows varying from a young surgeon who wishes to have a major breast interest, a major endocrine interest, major breast and endocrine interest or a more general training program. The Breast Unit in particular functions as a true Multidisciplinary Unit with strong links with the Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging and Pathology Department. Fellows will have the opportunity to be involved in the BreastScreen program at St Vincent's and there are strong translational research links with Professor Rick Thompson's laboratory. Formal training program includes weekly tutorials and trainees are expected to undertake a research project.  For Endocrine Surgery related matters contact Mr Stephen Farrell.
