Position Description

The breast unit comprises two experienced surgeons offering exposure to a broad range of ablative, reconstructive and restorative/aesthetic breast surgery procedures. The fellow will be responsible for the daily running of the unit including covering a 1 in 4 General Surgery on call roster. Assistance is provided by two registrars and 3 junior medical officers. The breast MDT runs fortnightly and the fellow will be an active paticipant. There is scope for regular private assisting and consulting in private rooms and there are plans for a public breast clinic for 2020.

The appointment includes attendance at the local Breastscreen service and the PFT will have access to point of care ultrasound and volumetric analysis.

Wollongong is located approximately 1 hour south of Sydney in a picturesque location nestled between pristine surf beaches and the majestic Illawarra escarpment. It enjoys a relaxed lifestyle with access to ever evolving restaurant and cafe scene.

1 year FTE role commencing early February 2022


Full time salary equivalent to Senior Registrar salary (or greater) and minimum salary package and requirements and conditions as required by law in the Hospital jurisdiction will apply
